Sorry, but this lute has been sold. More are on the way so keep checking back.

This lute was built by fellow luthier Paul Klemm in 1981. He is offering it up for sale.

It is built as a 7 course lute. All courses are double strung except the top string or chantrelle is single. Strings are nylon and nylon core wrapped in silverplated copper. Tuned to G (low to high) Ff Gg Cc ff aa dd g. This would make an excellent lute for a student.

The finish is traditional French polish.

Cedar is used for the top or 'belly'.

The bowl is constructed of cherry.
Mahogany neck veneered in rosewood with an ebony fretboard. Traditional hand tied gut is used for the frets.
Peg box is curly maple with an ebony back and hand turned plumwood tuning pegs.

Renaissance lute rose.
Hand made custom fitted case.
