This lute was built by fellow luthier Paul Klemm in 1989. He is offering it up for sale.
It is built as a 7 course lute. All courses are double strung except the top string or chantrelle is single. Strings are nylon and nylon core wrapped in bronze plated copper. Tuned to G (low to high) Ff Gg Cc ff aa dd g, it can be played much like a guitar.
The finish is traditional
varnish.

European spruce is used
for the top or 'belly' and the internal bracing.
The
bowl is constructed of flame maple.
Mahogany
neck with an ebony fretboard. Traditional hand tied gut is used
for the frets.
Peg box
is curly maple with an ebony back and hand turned plumwood tuning
pegs. 
Renaissance lute rose.
Hand made custom fitted case.
